The seminal book of my childhood, one I have listened to so many times on full cast audio that even now decades later, when I pick this book up to read, I can hear Brian Jacques as the narrator and the rest of the cast singing the songs and doing the voices.
This book helped make me into the adult person I am today. I had my first heartbreak in literary romance inMartin & Rose . My brother cried full angry tears when Felldoh's death did not even mean Badrang would be taken down.
The ending leads us into the founding of book 1 in the series, the titular Redwall itself. And it truly explains why Martin is the way he is. There is no other way.
If you can get your hands on the full cast audio book version of this, I guarantee it will be a marvelous time. They sing all the songs, the mole accents are out in full force, the pygmy shrew accents too! I found it difficult to read the accents some times so listening along made it much much easier.
