The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter

“And, like that, there was no going back. A dragon had been called, and someone would have to die.”

– The prologue was very interesting but honestly the book went downhill from there.

The prologue was very action-packed and filled with a lot of violence. After reading it I was very excited for the book but sadly the rest of the book didn’t meet my expectations. I knew by page 300 that I was really done with the book because honestly nothing had happened besides lots of deaths and repetition from Tau who wanted to avenge his fathers death. With this idea being mentioned the whole book I just didn’t care anyone and wanted to finish the book so that I could mark it as read on here and rate it with a full review of my personal feelings But on the other hand I didn’t feel close to any of the characters besides Uduak, Oyibo, Hadith, and Themba but even then it wasn't a lot of closeness because no one was truly safe in this book because at any time anyone could die and that's exactly what happened throughout the whole book! Sadly I have to be clique and say “I don’t understand the hype around this book.” All in all if a book is around 500+ pages and especially if it's a fantasy book it should not take 300+ pages to get an ounce of a plot line. This was honestly a long drawn out monologue of Tau hating everyone and sometimes himself.

“There would be, he swore, no days without difficulty.”

– P.S. I just want to thank the Libby app and my library for having this audiobook because without the audiobook I would’ve DNFed this book and moved on days ago! (still not over the fact that I wasted tabs on this tho)
