Summary
Drew is struggling to stay afloat financially since her son was born. Now her car is dead (again), her heat has been turned off, and last person she wants around is there to see her break down.
Winston just wants to be left alone. But he’s always felt a draw to Drew. She might hate him and think him heartless, but he proves her wrong when he invites her and her 3 month old son to live with him until they’re back on their feet financially. My Thoughts
I DEVOURED this book! I picked it up to read before bed and finished it 3 hours later, much past my bedtime. Like with all of other Teagan Hunter’s books, I just couldn’t put this book down. The characters and banter completely captured me.
This story is the epitome of enemies-to-lovers (my personal favorite troupe). It is definitely heavy on the enemies and even sometimes leans towards a bully romance. Which isn’t for everyone but I absolutely ate. it. up.
Drew and Winston are both dealing with some pretty heavy personal struggles. But the sarcasm and wit Tegan weaves in keeps this story from feeling to heavy or angsty. I loved the main characters chemistry and their sexual tension was absolutely palpable throughout the first half. I loved how they pushed and challenged each other. Their relationship was definitely not perfect but they very clearly cared for each other. I always appreciate seeing realistic depictions of relationships and this felt very real.
I loved being back in this world. I absolutely love these characters (Foster will always be number 1) and can’t wait to see what comes next.
