Retribution by Sloane Kennedy

4.0

Retribution felt like it had less suspense than the others, but definitely no less angst, emotional turmoil or pain. It was centred more around their pasts, and the healing relationship between the two of them. Helped along by a pretty adorable superhero obsessed little boy.

Hawke’s story is heartbreaking, and I actually found myself annoyed that the people in his life weren’t more helpful in assisting him get his revenge.

Tate who’s on the run from a terrible past, along with his son. When their paths cross they find that one thing that they’ve both been missing. Finding compassion and strength. Someone to hold them up when it feels like everything is crumbling around them.

“You’re kind, even though all you’ve known is cruelty. You’re strong despite all the times people have tried to break you. You gave up everything for that little boy from the second you saved him and you’ve been the father he needs and deserves despite not having had that yourself. I’m in awe of you, Tate Travers.”

In the end, you get a healing story full of love and a puppy.
