The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas by Machado de Assis

This might be the most unique novel I have ever read, and it was a really enjoyable experience! A satire (or at least I categorize it as a satire) that will make you ponder somberly, smile, laugh, and be baffled all at the same time.

I knew nothing about it (so much so that at first I thought I would be reading a nonfiction memoir and I searched to find out who is Bras Cuba)
