The Midnight Star by Marie Lu

5.0

This is the second series I have read by Marie Lu.
In the past, I have read heartbreaking books, and forced myself to admire their painful beauty.
In a way I have never seen, Marie Lu is able to create such beauty from pain, and in the darkest hours of her books, the stars shine radiantly above. There is no forced admiration when it comes to this pain, it is something I cannot explain, something that gives me hope and strength even in the most painful parts of her books. It gives me hope that no matter how dark things get, the stars will still be able to shine.
