Listen, parts of this book are so so good but others drag so much :(((
I wanted to love this book so much but it just didn’t fully hit for me. I appreciate worldbuilding as much as the next guy, but I felt like some bits could have been cut, particularly at the beginning. I found the book really hard to get into…
But once the trials started it was so much fun!!! Loved the magic n the mystery and the friendships :))
Also mad bc I didn’t know it wasn’t a stand-alone so now I need to wait for the next book bc it got rlly good towards the end n I need to see what happens.
Overall I’m glad I read it but it just fell a little short of my (high) expectations.
