The Ashes & the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent
4.0
It's difficult for me to write this review because I'm in a conflict with myself. On the one hand, I was very happy to be back in this world, but on the other hand, I felt like nothing happened except for the last 100 pages...
I was so uninterested in the relationship between Oraya and Raihn and enjoyed the side characters more. There were also too many unnecessary spice scenes in my eyes. Having something with each other once would be more than enough.
On the other hand, I really liked the character of Vincent, uncovering his secrets, seeing how complex his personality is and how much he really loved his daughter.
The revelation and the fight were also far too short for me; this back and forth between Oraya and Raihn didn't have to drag on so long.
Half a point is also deducted for the repeated phrase: "Ix's tits". Unfortunately, it was just exhausting.
Apart from that, I'm pleased that their story has a happy ending and that the next book will be about Mische.
3,5/5 ⭐
