Passage der Totenbeschwörer by Derek Landy
4.0
A major step up from previous volumes. The main characters go into an unconventional direction, that I felt was really well done. A bunch of character arcs were set up and resolved nicely, and a bunch more interesting things were set up as overarching plotlines. Stylistically, it got better too, as the author, rather than writing something that wants to be a screenplay, is taking more and more time exploring the strengths of text as a medium. Stuff that's not directly visible, or just more abstract. It really adds to the series.
My only complaint doesn't come from the books inherently, but I was rather dissatisfied with the German translation. Wish I'd gotten the books in English, honestly.
