A sweet witch story with the perfect autumnal atmosphere!
Unfortunately (but that’s a me-thing) I quite disliked Belle - I’ve just seen one to many Disney movie with a quirky/clumsy/awkward female main character, she just felt like a carbon copy of Anna/Mirabel/Rapunzel/Asha 😉 What also irritated me about Belle is how she reacted to everything with a snarky remark, even when the situation was obviously dangerous. It just felt weird to me how she was barely ever serious, sometimes her sarcasm came off arrogant or mocking in a way… and I just don’t understandhow after her mother was in danger and apparently was severely hurt she or anyone else didn’t freak out more… why aren’t you all traumatized?! Why didn’t you tell the coven and just tried to handle it yourselves?! Not even Rune told anyone, smh…
Rune had major Edward Cullen vibes, I hated and loved it at the same time 😅🧛♂️
Artorius was a gem, the scenes with him were always my favourite. I also loved how magic was the main focus of the story and not just a side plot, there were so many beautiful and creative ways it was used.
For a „cozy fantasy“ the stakes were preeeetty high in my opinion, but once the story really gets going, I couldn’t put the book down. I had a lovely time 🧙♀️♥️
