“I think I’m in love with him, Mr. Neck-Neck.”
Please, someone fuck with my memory so I can experience reading this for the first time again. Holy hell, it was amazing. I can't stop smiling from ear to ear. It's starting to get embarrassing.
Troy Barrett was the gift that kept on giving. I'm a puddle, I completely melted at his feet and am taking up permanent residence there. The things I would do to this man are obscene. I loved how he redeemed himself and grew as a person, striving to be a better human while battling the toxicity he grew up with. He was awkward, sweet, adorable, and just the right amount of cocky. God, I love him. He and Ilya are currently occupying my last two functioning brain cells.
Harris was the biggest sweetheart and an amazing person. His kind nature charmed me in the giddiest of ways. His family was incredible, and I adored seeing Troy experience their love and acceptance. I loved how Harris genuinely cared for the people in his life, and I admired him for the way he calmed everyone on their flight back home. I wish we had gotten more from him, but that's because I'm greedy.
I devoured this book and Troy & Harris' relationship. I swooned and blushed intensely at their earlier interactions and how Troy kept coming to Harris's office with coffee so he could bask in the peace of simply being in Harris's presence. I'm especially happy theirs was a relationship that steadily grew instead of focusing on needless drama or a third-act breakup. The cake pops, watching Christmas lights, the pin, the getaway… I truly loved how romantic this story was.
PS: Fuck Dallas Kent and Curtis Barrett.
