Where there is good there is bad and after removing the Opal of Light from its hiding place so all can share in its light an unexpected consequence of it means the Onyx of Darkness is now uncovered. There is so much packed into this book and so well written that you are left feeling like you have gone through everything with them. It is a race against time for Orlla, Teldus and the others to find the Onyx and keep it safe however that is easier said than done with friends becoming foes and vice versa as well as having to trek through areas that are so dangerous on crazy people would go there. It was great to get to know thee characters more and see them grow with all they experience whether it be through fighting, running, despair, double crossing and learning how harsh life really is. No one is safe on this journey, not all will return and the ending ... are you kidding me I could not believe it!!
