Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez
5.0
This book kind of sucked to read as a woman.
To completely sum this book up- if you fail to account for gender, women will suffer. From small things like finding it more difficult to access public transportation to tremendous effects such as being more likely to die from a car crash or heart attack. The world is geared towards men and women have poorer life outcomes and qualities of life due to this fact. The world does not hate women (typically), but in a male dominated world, they simply forget about them and this passive (and sometimes deliberate) forgetfulness hurts women worldwide.
The book is backed with a substantial amount of reputable research, facts, and data (or lack thereof). This book needs to be required reading in college courses. Without women making a fuss, things will just continue on as they have and our lives will be worse for it.
