Here I am again for the Truth or Dare series and its latest instalment: The Pink Lantern

Here we follow the story of Joan, daughter of Kenzi, Donovan and Jason and sister of Otto, the characters we followed in the first books of the series. The 18-year-old has decided to pursue her studies in England, where she will discover her found family.

I think I’ve read books with the same themes as The Pink Lantern, but I don’t think any of them did it in the way that Adora Crooks does in this book—which doesn’t take anything away from the quality of the other books; being different doesn’t mean being less good.

Once again, I really enjoyed this book in the series, although I have to admit that I found it a little harder to get used to the pacing. Having read all the books in the series back-to-back, I was used to the different POVs of the characters, but in The Pink Lantern the story is told from Joan’s POV—three years have passed between the publication of the last two books, and it seems normal to me that an author’s style might change in that time.

I’m a little sad to be leaving this family, but I’m sure I’ll be reading more books by Adora Crooks.
