What it is about
Zera gets a new mission assigned. She has to travel back to 2040 and find out how earth was destroyed by a geomagnetic storm. There she meets Katherine, but apparently they I've already met.
From there the story expands to a frantic hunt through time to save earth, love and friendships, multiple hunters on their heels at any given moment.
What I liked
Oh my, I knew on the first pages, and it did not let me down.
I love fast paced books able to hook me through the whole story, and this novel did exactly what I like.
The characters were sassy, funny, had purpose and I loved following them. Though it was clearly plot driven at the beginning, Zera quickly developed a strong goal and the stakes were super high.
Over all: if you love banter, action, romance, good representation, time‐travel and high stakes (like, "world is ending" high stakes) this is for you.
What I didn't like
Well, if fast paced, time travel and romance, is absolutely not your thing, then maybe this book isn't your thing? Thought I suggest it anyway, just on a craft level it's good to read for any writer.
If I had to find something, it would be some minor inconsistencies (maybe it's me?). Some questions that remained unanswered for me. Nothings keeping me from giving this book 5 Stars though.
Oh, and the paperback. It is inconveniently large (but very floppy). So if you have a Kindle, mayb consider the ebook.
Last words
Vincenty got me from page one with incredibly good crafting, a good story and a high speed hook from another time, dragging me through! I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone: seasoned sci-fi reader, newbie to the genre or writer on their journey.
Can't wait for Vincenty's next work.
