A Destined Christmas Miracle by Jaiyde Thomas, Jaiyde Thomas

3.0

I was very interested in reading this book. It really seemed a good story and although it was quite interesting, it was not what I expected. The author mentions in a note within the book that this story is inspired by another book, which I also read and that I really liked, but this story was not enough for me.

In the first place, it would be good if the author indicates that to understand Colin well and his actions and behavior, and who are some secondary characters in this story (but in a previous book are Mcs), we should read Claim Me, Love Me, something I actually did. It is where Colin ends with his "broken heart."

Second, I can't understand that a person continues with a broken heart a year after finishing a relationship of a few weeks and that it was basically sexual. Obviously, Colin would have another problem to continue hooked that way.

Third, the solution to heal that heart was to travel to another city and get at risk with strangers? It does not justify the actions of those strangers, of course.

Fourth, Colin and Stephen met briefly in the club and try a scene, from which Colin flees. After months (at least it seems months!) Stephen continues to think about him and by chance he finds out that Colin makes a trip and where and feels that he is in danger, he buys a passage and travels with his best friend to there, touring the city with him until he finds Colin seriously hurt. I mean ... He met him for 5 minutes one day, and months later he travels to rescue him. It is not realistic for me.

Fifth, this best friend of Stephen becomes obsessed with Colin, begins to follow him and stalk him, while he distances from Stephen and tries to interfere with the relationship they maintain. He even "helps" the people who attacked Colin and that want to damage him again,

Sixth, I was interested in seeing the dynamics with a dominant person with a disability, in a BDSM environment, but really, apart from a few, very few scenes, there was not much of that. I mean, we do see their D/s relationship but more focused on helping Colin recover and overcome his traumas.

Anyway, I have seen that it has good reviews, and may be these things that I list are not important, but for me, the story would greatly improve and it would be better understood.

I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review
