Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
4.0
This was just what the reading slump ordered.
I was looking for a quick suspense/mystery to fill my time that was easy to follow and had a decent enough story - this one delivered. If there's anything I love in a book, it's an unreliable narrator! Lucy's sarcasm and dryness was refreshing for such a twisted concept, which helped make the audiobook entertaining.
There are parts of the story that dragged on quite a bit and fell flat. I'm still trying to understand if it's because nearly everyone in this book is a terrible person or if they were just added for fluff. I don't go into these stories trying to figure out who is the culprit, but in this story there were so many characters it would've felt silly to even try.
Overall - solid quick read for those who also have terrible family members and find humor in the crappiest of times.
