The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina
3.0
This was such an emotional story. The way that so much of the content is based in real life really hits home and gives it an emotional edge.
It wasn't as gripping as I was expecting, but it was definitely thought provoking and sweet. Especially the relationship between Yui and Takwshi. It was really very lovely to watch as it blossomed as well as seeing Hana's story unfold.
I think it gives a powerful insight into people's lives and mentalities after living through such natural disasters and is a light for when you're going through darker times that you're not alone.
CONTENT WARNING: Death, Death of a Child, Death of a Parent, Natural Disaster, Grief, Injury
