Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert

First read of the year and this one is a cover buy!!
This is a fun YA contemporary romance that follows two childhood bestfriends turned enemies/academic rivals and how a scholarship opportunity via wilderness exploration will help rekindle their friendship and maybe something more?
The cover is definitely attention-stealin and I just love buying books with pink covers.
The story features used-to-be besties who are now academic rivals so the banter and the tension in every encounter was topnotch. The two MCs definitely had a chemistry that is oozing off the pages.
However, there is something in this book that I can't quite place. Maybe it's the pull or the charisma of the plot but it definitely lacks something. Overall, a great summer read but just don't get your expectations too high.
RATING: 3.5stars
