This was headed towards a five star, and is overall lovely. However, the chapter told in italics bc we didn't get dual POV was a weird choice to me. Contortions to get a glimpse into Sutton's head , but I'm not sure it was worth it. I think we either needed a more equitable split, or a better device to get his backstory .
I thought the parts dealing with Wren'sburn scars were handled with sensitivity, and Wren is a great character. He has a wonderful disposition and outlook on life, considering what he's been through.
I feel thewhitefanging from Sutton went on a bit too long, but I can't be mad at the line "Don't let me let you go."
(Also, I don't have a problem with epilogues, and this one was legit 15 years out (I think a proper epilogue should be at least a year in the future, minimum six months) but this one felt too rushed/packed with info bc we had so much ground to cover in a short space.)
