The Walking Dead: Compendium 3 by Robert Kirkman

5.0

Pros
- I really liked both of the storylines of this book. I thought Negan was done really well and I never realised how show accurate he was. I felt the saviours war went on for long enough and the lead up to the whispers was well done. The ending, although I knew it was coming, was still emotional. It was nice to see Maggie have a bit more of a personality as well.

- Jesus is easily the best character. Not only is he sexy af but he's also strong and well written. Although I still maintain that Rick, Andrea, Carl and Michonne are the only characters that really show personality. I was also surprised by a few of the deaths in this book.

- I really like how they are setting up Carl as the future of the Walking Dead. Although he is annoying it's nice to see another character besides right have so much light. That scene with him and Lydia was so uncomfortable though. But that's what Kirkman does well, writing a fucked up apocalypse.

- The art throughout these books has been consistently amazing. They do an excellent job of showing gore without being too overwhelming.

Cons
- I do wish they expanded on other characters more. I can see their attempt in this compendium but the story is still 93% Rick, 6% Carl, 1% everyone else. However, I still rate this book 5 stars.
