The chapters that deal with autism and disability (or qualities mistaken for disability like deafness) are gross and sad and make my heart hurt. Do people truly never consider that autists would listen to a neuroscience lecture? Are we not stereotypically fuckin nerdy as hell? Like. We are people, not consequences of things gone awry. To ASSUME that difference means defective is anti scientific.
