Ooph, this was a hard one. I loved the idea of Ruiz celebrating herself with 12 trips, but I found I did not care for Ruiz and there's a LOT of her in this book. Her disappointment at not being married with a child at 29 and quest for a man was too much a focus, vs the solo travel magic this book was supposed to be about. It's possible this would have a stronger appeal to a younger reader, but this did not work for me. That said, I loved some of the places she chose to visit.
