I’m giving it 3 stars because the narrators are great and there were promising moments.

That said this has dual narrators both of whom are unreliable and the author just flat out lies to the reader. It makes the “twist” and ending infuriating rather than a wow I can’t believe it moment. Unreliable characters are one thing but an unreliable author generally isn’t one I go back to. The book feels like a story the author pantsed her way through without going back and adjusting the threads of the story to make it work.
