I love the sneaking around, the jokes made and i love all the characters. This book is basically based on the fact that Aurora has daddy issues lol and so does Russ. This book was good but there was a lot of frustrating things about the story line. Aurora was lowkey desperate but Russ was also too shy to admit anything and he does have a hard time letting people in. Aurora gave me the ick early on in the book when she said that she can go to any guy because she craves attention where she can get it (im pulling from memory because i cant find what page its on). Russ’ dad’s gambling addiction was sad to read. An invisible addiction to the world but as real as any addiction to those close and i do believe it was portrayed well in this book. It didn't overshadow the love story but showed what it can do to the family around. I think my favorite part of the story is the fact that the dogs named after fish including a dog named fish😂. Now lets move on to the epilogue! I love that the epilogue was “omg we have so many furry babies” instead of “omg were pregnant with a 2 year old” lol im tired of the pregnancy epilogues. Lastly Aurora is relatable when she said this to Russ “ thank you for letting me bring pets home even when you say no”😂
All in all i liked this book and i did think it was a great pallet cleanser but icebreaker was definitely much better. In regard to recommending this book id say its a 50/50. i can see people thinking this book is boring or not worth reading. I enjoyed this book and read it in 3 days. Also this book is my #50 read of the year 🥳
