We Were the Lucky Ones is a novel based on true stories and an exciting family; a book that explores the complexities of the human spirit during times of war and adversity.
As a third-generation Holocaust survivor, I am jealous and proud at the same time of the unwavering determination to survive and manage to reunite the Kurc family amidst the horrors of WWII. For me is one of the most powerful and moving stories of human experience I read lately.
