The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix

5.0

Incredible—one of the best vampire stories I’ve ever read (or seen, for that matter), and it cleverly updates an age-old genre. Hendrix does a great job conveying the feelings of paranoia felt by the protagonist, and he utilizes the setting of Deep South 1990’s Georgia expertly to address issues of gender roles and expectations, racial disparities, and family.
