The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager
4.0
I liked it, then loved it, then hated it, then liked it again. Gave me whiplash for sure. Got a little far-fetched toward the beginning of the end, but reeled me back in pretty quickly. I still think the narrator makes stupid decisions, and I'm mad at how unrealistic it is. It left me feeling a little duped, because I thought I had the genre figured out. I had made some predictions but even the correct ones morphed into incorrect ones. It was pretty exciting to figure it all out. Spoiler if you've read Survive the Night:

Riley Sager needs a new twist in his books, because halfway through, I thought: "This is going to be just like the twist in Survive the Night, isn't it?" And I was 1/3 correct.
