The Book of Souls by James Oswald
3.0
Second in the series about DI McLean , an Edinburgh police officer who in Book 1 was investigating a particularly nasty occult style killing in which he had family connections . We learned in book 1 that he has lost girlfriend and that he has some awareness of paranormal.
In this second book we learn more about the death of his girlfriend who had been the victim of a serial killer.
As a very similar series of crimes start up again he investigates , is it a copy cat or a miscarriage of justice.
Overall a good solid police procedural and I enjoy the slight supernatural element that doesn't stretch believability. Certainly sufficiently engaging and entertaining for me to read on in the series.
