Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
5.0
This is the first Agatha Christie book I ever read all the way through by myself. My mom, a major Christie fan, had read Crooked House to me before (it is excellent), and I had started another one of her books, but never finished. I will of course likely be finishing it now, because this book was spectacular! Christie is a genius, and an extremely talented one at that. Her brilliance, wit, and eloquence are made clear in every word she writes. Her masterful use of suspense keeps the pages turning, while her cleverness and cool use of intellect keeps you guessing. This book is full of delightful twists and turns, and a shocking, I-never-saw-that-coming ending. If you can't be a real life detective...what the heck are you waiting for? Pick up an Agatha Christie and start adventuring. There's simply no one like her. She is truly the Queen of Mystery.
