This is really 2.5 stars for me. I loved the concepts but not the execution and at times, the writing was beautiful and really made me think about the relational aspects between humans and nature/animals/environment and between humans and AI and our ethical responsibilities in both areas. But the writing often felt disjointed and was confusing at times (for me), and as though there were several different stories going on to convey some pretty heady philosophical ideas but with not enough focus to give it the depth needed to feel complete.
