Borders by Thomas King
4.0
Really beautiful story of a young Blackfoot boy and his mother trying to cross the border between Canada and the US to visit his sister. His mother, however, refuses to use her Canadian passport to travel within Blackfoot land, even though the US/Can border intersects that land. This was such a simple plot that the novel doesn't really go anywhere, but it stirs up big questions both for the main character and for the reader about the nature of borders themselves.
