Aged 42, you die, only to find yourself inside your own teenage body in your own past … then it happens again … and again … and again … This is the third time I’ve read REPLAY, and each time I’ve loved it more. It’s a brilliant story, brilliantly told. The author expertly avoids the obvious trap of repetition and allows us to accompany his protagonist through increasingly extreme attempts to extract some sort of meaning from his relentless resurrections. It’s moving, sometimes shocking, and consistently thought-provoking. To live your life again is, surely, one of our most common fantasies. This warns, be careful what you wish for. Definitely an unsung classic.
