I read this book for a book club at my school in 2019 so I don’t really remember much. All I remember is that one girl was pretty crazy and tried to murder the main character because she thought his dad killed her mom. The ending seemed pretty rushed for sure.
Edit: I found my review from when I first read this book!
I liked the first chapters better, but the adventure was fun. Brigit got on my nerves a lot, I thought she was nice at first, now I hate her. She tried to kill Tristan, and his father for what happened to her mother. I’m glad she went to the mental ward.
I didn’t like when she said that Julian was cheating on Mary, like he would ever do that to his family, so glad that he wrote in his note basically everything we were thinking. He seemed like a really nice dad, yet we never got to meet him. He was a great example.
Alex was ok. I don’t like him that much. To greedy maybe.
But a good thing is that all of the characters in the book had flaws. Tristan has a lot of pressure on him that impacted him a bit. His mom had depression which made her sick. Brigit also has a mental disorder which makes her go crazy. Dominik fell for Brigit so he went with all of her psycho stuff. And Dean is just really annoying.
My favourite characters are probably Mary and Elspeth. They helped a lot and didn’t do anything wrong really. I also like their personality’s to. Even though Mary was too depressed to do anything, I still knew that she was a good mom. And Elspeth, even though she is basically a witch, she was really nice. No clue why Alex fell for her though.
