I have been re reading old favourites. My Mum read me this as a child (tho it isn’t a children’s book) and I have read it soooo many more times but not for a long time. Oh my goodness this book is an old friend! It is the funniest book I have ever read, it is utterly beautiful too. The story of a young boy and his family growing on Corfu. The stories make me laugh my socks off but also transport me to the beauty that is Greece. The descriptions of the island are like a dream of visiting heaven...,My husband saw a bit of the TV series and assures me it is nothing like the book. If you want CV-19 relief.. this is the balm to calm the turmoil!
