Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

I would give this 100 stars if Goodreads would let me. Seriously, it was SO good!!! Best book I've read this year by far.

I utterly fell in love with every single one of the Crows. I can't decide which is my favorite. Kaz is so cunning and wonderful, and even though he wouldn't agree, his flaws made me love him even more. Inej is just absolutely amazing. She's so strong. Nina is also very strong and very funny. Matthias isn't someone I ever thought I would love but he somehow wormed his way into my heart as he did with Nina's. Wylan is adorable and so clever. Jesper is so hopelessly bi that it just warms my heart. Gah I could gush about all of them all day.

I loved loved loved seeing Nikolai, Genya, Zoya, and Tamar again. <3

I really enjoyed the non-stop action in this book. Parts had me laughing so hard, while others had me biting my lip trying not to cry.
SpoilerWylan seeing his mother for the first time in years broke me. Matthias dying broke me. Nina's sorrow broke me. Kaz buying Inej's indenture healed me. Wylan and Jesper's first kiss healed me. Kaz bringing Inej's familing to Ketterdam healed me.
There are so many other parts worth mentioning, but I won't because this review would be entirely too long if I did.

Just do yourself a favor and read all the books in the Grishaverse. They're so worth it.
