4 1/2 stars - I loved this book so much!

I actually started this as an audio book and instantly knew I had to read a physical copy instead. Something so dedicated to the love of reading and the love of books deserved to be held. (Literally, I hugged this book several times.)

It's taken me some time to come back for a review after finishing. I thought I hated the ending and was so upset at it ruining the book for me. But as I reflected, I realized I didn't hate THE ending, I hated that the book ended.

Everything about this book worked for me - the writing style, the pace, the characters and their development. But especially the story within the story. I was captivated in all the best ways.

This was my first Barbara Davis book, and I've since started two more from her. I'm definitely keeping her books in rotation.
