I could not connect with this book at all. It was getting whiplash from the “we’re just friends” to asking if the characters in her smutty book are 69ing yet all in the same paragraph. I just think the book is trying to do many things- be a fluffy romance but also deal with these really heavy traumas like addiction and sexual assault. And that’s not to say people who have experienced trauma do not deserve fluffy romances I just don’t think it was executed well here. And it could be 150 pages shorter.
