The Art Thief by Michael Finkel

4.0

A fascinating portrait of a rare kind of art thief: he didn't steal for money, nor fame. Rather, he stole to satisfy an aesthetic appetite so insatiable he could not stop himself from thieving from museums across Europe simply to display in his attic bedroom. No matter how many times he went to prison. Stephane Breitwieser remains among one of the greatest art thieves in history, and Michael Finkel's reporting is incredible. Highly recommended if you enjoy art mysteries and stories about thieves.
