You're a Good Swimmer by Christopher Rivas

You are a special sperm of a person! That is the biggest and easiest message to understand. Instead of saying Mom + Dad = YOU, this books shows us the scientific makeup of our own uniqueness. Today, in the U.S. and across the globe, many families don't follow the traditional makeup of woman + man equals a child. There are so many non-traditional families that it makes sense to actually show a child how they come to be.

For the STEM folks, this is probably gold. I remember biology, anatomy, and genetics in high school so I know the schema of making an organism. Once we break it down like this, it does make you see just how unique you are compared to the next person. Our DNA is our thumbprint to existence.

I enjoyed the artwork the most here because it kept my attention and was pretty to look at. There's nothing wrong with teaching mature children where babies come from. This is life and science and it's important to know these things.

Very educational and necessary to know about our bodies and how we impact the worlds we live in. You are uniquely you and that's great.

4 stars!
