I’ll cut right to the chase: it’s a happily ever after ending. The reason why it’s only 3 stars for me is because after the length of the series the finale felt very rushed. Like bam, all is good in the ‘hood and the parents are kosher with all the changes after meeting Cane once. It ends well though and there are multiple epilogues which completely satisfy the need to know how their lives turn out. It’s a fairly quick read so while I was a little disappointed, I’d still say it’s worth the read. .

SERIES REVIEW:
A little too dark for my taste, and by that I mean that I felt there was a lot of gratuitous violence toward women. I understood why the author might want to include some of the more brutal scenes but the end didn’t justify the means in this case. Also, after so much focus on human trafficking, I felt it was a big missed opportunity to not have the characters do more than save their respective lovers. The male leads are portrayed as having clout and the female leads are strong and passionate. I would have liked to have seen, at a minimum, some effort toward bringing more attention to the cause (for example, hosting a charity event at the vineyard to raise awareness or fundraise for victims) or something of the like. That aspect left me disappointed. The reason why the series is worth reading is because of the dynamic between the characters. Their relationships kept me interested. And the sex is 🔥🔥🔥 when it’s consensual. Give it a read and let me know what you think. .
