I’m not usually a sci fi reader bc it goes over my head, but this series is the only thing on booktok atm so I gave it a go and as usual, my fave fantasy influencers were right. This reads like epic fantasy, but obviously it is set in space.
Every once in a while I do enjoy a book being told like a story by the main character. I think it worked really well in this bc Hadrian is so damn dramatic. He didn’t always make the smartest decisions but I think that made him all the more relatable. I really struggle to picture settings in space, bc obvs I’ve never been (loool) so I would’ve probably benefited from more description, but then that can be boring so…
I think you could probably read this and highlight something on each and every page. I spent a fair while highlighting on my kindle bc the author writes so beautifully.
I’m going to try and read this series quite quickly so that I can keep up with the hype online, so it’s a good job the ending was so exciting.
