Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley

4.0

I LOVED Ian and Beth's story, and while this one was emotional and thrilling it just didn't quite have the same excitement for me as book one did. I loved bits and pieces of the book, but as a whole I didn't quite find it as romantic or even sad as I hoped it would be. From meeting these two in the last book you could see the drama coming and I just feel it needed a little something more. I don't like to compare books to others but I think when it comes to a series that's all interconnected you have to. It weaves a story that's made of a heap of stories and I just think while this was good (maybe I should even put it at 3.5 but it's written really well) it wasn't fantastic.

It focused more on the fake Mackenzie and that drama than the drama of their relationship. The bits where you saw how messed up they are were the best bits. Maybe I just didn't like the crazy man, and all the who is it where is he. Oh well.
