The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
5.0
My first novel by Élif Shafak and I’m so sad it ended! I hated not having enough time to read it continuously because it has such beautiful flow.
I loved finding insightful anecdotes and advice for myself, and it being part of a mesmerising story line made it even more interesting!
Coming from a Muslim background and leaning more on the spiritual side...this book really resonated with me! The Sufi ways of thinking affirm a lot of things for me and will definitely continue to read more into what it is about.
To top it off - this book surrounds the life of the well respected Mawlawi Rumi with references to the Masnawi and Divan - what is not to love!!!
This definitely makes my list of top books to read once in your life!
