I am actually SCREAMING, that ending was honestly the BEST ending of a romance book I’ve ever read, I feel so satisfied. This was, by the way, my first “adult” romance ever, but having read many, many hate to love fanfics I knew I just needed to read this. I must say the first 2/3 of the book gave me a lot of 2 star vibes.. The wording of the sentences often left me confused and it was hard for me to understand certain actions and even got me confused on what actually was happening sometimes. Also I did not feel the sexual tension between them in the first stages at all, which was a shame as I enjoy that the most in a hate to love thrope.
The final third of the book tho, daammnn, that totally made up for the “faults” I experienced in the beginning. The constant sweeps of I hate you, whoop I like you, nope I hate you.. or do I? Was DELICIOUS and then the ENDING when they are being HONEST, UGH. It was devine, absolutely delicious. I actually kinda wanna reread to read it again with knowing what is revealed at the end about the characters’ inner intentions. That all guves such a different perspective
Also at one point I was like ‘hmm maybe I have problems with Lucy because we’re kinda alike’ and that made me do some proper self reflection.
And can we talk about how basically this book has an average number of pages but so. much. happens??? Like how??? What kind of sorcery??
I maybe did not Love this, but I enjoyed it thoroughly and will probably, most likely listen to this one as audiobook just for the sh.ts and giggs.
Lucy, Josh: it’s been real.
