Cut by Patricia McCormick

This is a book I’ve had since middle school that I never bothered to read, but in my quest to read books I own, we ended up here.
It was okay, it wasn’t anything too special. Perhaps it would be more meaningful if I read it when I was younger. I give props to the author for writing about a really difficult topic, and as someone who used to cut I think that she got the thought process behind the action pretty well. But it all came off a bit ‘at a distance’? I’m not sure if that makes sense? Like she was writing about a difficult topic but at an arms length away?
The book was also very short, and though 50% of me thinks that the plot was okay and resolved nicely, I still think it was all a bit loose, and thrown together at the end. I would have enjoyed the book being longer and going into more of the other girls that were at the center, or developing more into Callies story.
It was just okay, nothing too special.
