A phenomenal, action packed volume full of more mystery and intrigue. We finally learn the origin of the kaiju-sized leech, and it's not great.
So great to see Coco trust her secret with Qifrey, and Qifrey with no hesitation in helping his apprentice. A lot of great moments with those two, and Coco even points out she believes they're both alike, both having seen the dark side of magic.
I thought it was interesting that Shirahama included the witches helping with the medicine and Tetia even suggest teaching the townsfolk magic. I think what I love most about this series is the constant gray area with magic and how it's not this benevolent thing it's made out to be.
Of course, the climactic battle was incredible. I can't wait to see the fallout from that. Easy 5 stars!
