This book made me cry. Poor Hasan! Besides that, Amir Jan, the main character, is so annoying, frustrating, and for most of the book quite unlikable. I wanted to smack him upside his head to wake him up. Especially in one particular scene that I won't mention and spoil the book, Amir Jan is lucky was inside the book. Furthermore, I found a couple plot points to be far-stretched (like the sling shot incident) and difficult to believe would work out in reality. Nevertheless, the story touched my heartstrings.
