The Devil's Vice by Mindy Paige
4.0
The Devil's Vice started off by grabbing my attention and keeping it there for about a quarter of the way in, but then I started questioning way too many things that I couldn't look past or even let my mind say "this is fiction...stay in the land of disbelief"...so while I did finish the book I had a hard time loving it or even connecting with wanting to love it.
I love a good possessive-obsessive romance, and what I think I enjoy about it is the push back that the other character brings to that possession. Obviously I want them to eventually give in and admit that they love being the center of attention, but up until that point I want my heart to race over how psycho they think that person is...right? Somehow in this book I felt all of that was lost. This is of course all of my own personal opinion. Lilith and Kain didn't bring that chemistry like I was hoping and hopefully it's a me problem and someone else will love them.
So while this review is rounded up to 4 stars, it's more like 3.5, since I did enjoy certain elements and it did keep my attention for good chunks of the book, but honestly, it was just somewhat disappointing in the overall grand scheme.
