A Grandmother Begins the Story by Michelle Porter

5.0

This Novel was very hard at some points, you could see some of the historical trauma, the anger that rightfully should be there. Having 5 generations of Métis woman and seeing things through their eyes was very powerful.

Books like this are important to read as they allow a reader to understand the importance of voice, learning, and being supportive.

I also felt Michelle Porter did a wonderful job including the buffaloes, dogs and other animals into the story. It all come round and is important to the end.

Thank you Michelle for a wonderful read.
